TAZA Midwives Logo

The TAZA Midwives logo was created to represent the partnership of midwives from Zambia and the United States for joint projects. It had to translate the ideas of motherhood, midwifery, nurturing, and babies cross-culturally and be ethnically representative. I adapted some simple clipart to create an icon that could indicate diversity with different tones for the “people,” using a modified heart shape to represent a mother or midwife holding two infants (echoing the multi-layered meaning of “twinning”). The result is a strong iconic look that adapts well to social media, print and other uses (banners, t-shirts, etc.).
